Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Krishansis Dash of Odisha has secured the 28th All India Rank in National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2017, the results of which were declared a few moments ago. Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), around 35,000 from Odisha had appeared the test.
Around 11 lakh students from all over the country had appeared the test conducted on May 7 this year. The successful candidates will be enrolling in various medical and dental colleges for MBBS and BDS degrees. However, the board was in trouble following a stay order of the Madras High Court.
Earlier on May 24, the Supreme Court had stayed a Madras High Court order restraining the CBSE from declaring the NEET 2017 result for undergraduate medical courses.
The result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 has finally declared today, on June 23, by the CBSE. As per the reports, nearly 6.11 lakh candidates have cleared the exam and qualified. A total of 11, 38,890 students appeared for NEET examination, conducted in 10 different languages across 1,921 exam centres including 1,522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 foreign students.
All those candidates who had appeared for the exam are required to check their respective results, once declared, at the official website cbseneet.nic.in.
This year, Punjab’s Navdeep Singh has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 rank with a total score of 697 marks in the male category. Meanwhile, in the female category, Nikita Goyal emerged as topper
Last year, Gujarat Boy Het Shah (18) secured the first position with 685 marks out of 720, followed by Ekansh Goyal (18) from Rourkela, Odisha, and Nikhil Bajiya (17) from Rajasthan with 678 marks.
The results will also be available at cbseresults.nic.in and results.gov.in.
The Supreme Court has earlier directed the CBSE to declare the (NEET results putting a stay on the Madras High Court’s order restraining publication of results. The top court had asked CBSE to declare NEET 2017 results before 26 June. Admitting authorities will draw merit list based on All India Rank for the seats of MBBS/BDS falling under their jurisdiction.
